ABSTRACT
Health professionals (HPs) face high stress situations every day as they have to deal with many stressful situations and make difficult decisions, with consequences for both their physical and mental health. It is therefore important that they strengthen their resilience through a process of self-care. The purpose of this review was to investigate the effect of physical exercise and self-care on the mental resilience of HPs. For this purpose, a search was made for primary and review studies published in the English language, in the electronic databases Pubmed, Scopus, Sciencedirect. According to these results, it was found that physical exercise and self-care contribute to the mental resilience of HPs. In order to be able to cope with adverse work conditions, they should remain physically and mentally healthy through a self-care process that includes strengthening their mental resilience. In this direction, physical exercise can also contribute, as it is a way of relaxing and reducing stress, as well as improving their mental resilience.
