Welcome

Over time, the understanding of Nursing has expanded beyond basic caregiving to encompass a systematic body of knowledge known as nursing science. This discipline integrates empirical evidence, clinical expertise, and patient-centered care, emphasizing the development of theories and practices that improve healthcare quality. Nursing science not only addresses biological and physiological aspects of health but also incorporates psychosocial, cultural, and environmental factors, reflecting the complexity of patient care.

Its evolution is closely linked to the advancement of quality assessment methods in healthcare, which, although less mature than in industry, underscore the importance of structured systems to enhance care outcomes. Moreover, Nursing Science recognizes leadership as a core competency essential for effective practice, advocating for educational models that foster leadership development and critical thinking in nurses. Thus, Nursing Science represents a dynamic, multidisciplinary approach essential to advancing healthcare and professional nursing roles.

The Hellenic Journal of Nursing Science (HJNS) is the official publication of the Hellenic Regulatory Board of Nurses (ENE) and the platform for publishing research studies, narrative and systematic reviews, case studies and editorial articles, with the aim of developing and strengthening our Science.
