Falls are a long – time problem both for patients and their families as also for health systems. This is a situation that can lead in injuries, lack of independence, disability, need of hospitalization or even death. Nursing science has a determinant role in the treatment of falls, but first of all in their prevention and education of elderly patients and their families. Multifactorial falls prevention programs with an educational and simultaneous nursing character can be an adjustment in the usual nursing care with excellent effects for the elderly population. This study refers to a review of bibliography of the latest data of the years 2015 – 2021 from scientific data bases such as Pubmed, science Direct and NEJM, which led to 15 papers that deal with different fall prevention interventions and their results for the elderly people who live in the community, nursing homes or they are hospitalized.
