ABSTRACT
The perioperative care for liver surgery has undergone changes and these changes involve the entire health group. Numerous researches suggest radical changes in patient care in all phases of perioperative care. Short intestinal feeding, mobilization of the patient on the day of intervention and changes in the method of anesthesia are only few of the proposed changes. Τhe results of those interventions are among other things shorter hospital stay, improved patients quality of life and rarer complications. Achieving these results requires from the healthcare workers more involvement in the patientcare, willingness, and readiness to change their practice and update their knowledge.
